The Alternative Ending is an ending in The True Backrooms: Renovated.

This ending spawns the player on an invisible platform shrouded by darkness, floating in the void. A singular door is seen behind the player. A replica of the Endless Office walls can be seen far above and below the invisible platform, although the lights do not actually emit light despite being turned on. The plane decorated with wire posts on the left and right sides, which leads the player to the laundromat. Continuing in a straight line and following the black particles below the player's feet will lead you to the Laundromat.

Three Faceless Beings lounge around idle within the laundromat. They deliver short, one line phrases when interacted with. The Faceless Being which was initially freed from the Endless Office is standing near a corner and cannot be interacted with. Entering the exit door will teleported the player to A Cosy, Warm Place.

Eternal Lounge

Achieved by entering the room with the Faceless Being in Endless Office. Then, complete the game normally. This means none of the other ending conditions should be met.

Progress through the game in this exact order:

Endless Office (enter the room) -> Overtime -> It's Too Much -> Great Deals -> Closing Day -> Substrata -> Natura -> Purgatory -> Delay -> Petrichor -> Nobody Is Around To Help -> Eternal Lounge

It is required to start at Endless Office.

Exits

A Cosy, Warm Place

Follow the power lines to the Laundromat. Enter the Laundromat, in which you'll see the Faceless Being run into the back door. Past the room with the washing machines, the exit can be found. Walk into the fire exit to be teleported to A Cosy, Warm Place.

Faceless Being

This is the final sighting of the Faceless Being. If you've entered the room in Endless Office with the Faceless Being before entering this stage, you can spot him again in this ending. He can be found when entering the Laundromat. He will run into the back door. Following him further, he will be standing in a corner, and will not move again.

The badge name "Restored Camaraderie" suggests that we, the player, have restored the Faceless Being's camaraderie and returned him to his original, natural habitat. This is supported by the old Classic badge, "Camaraderie With Faceless Beings", in which multiple of the same Faceless Beings can be found in the Classic Fever Dream Ending.

Trivia

• The Alternative Ending is the only place in The True Backrooms: Renovated where sprinting is both enabled and disabled.
  • Sprinting is enabled when spawning in, before arriving at the Laundromat. It would likely take a very long time to walk to the Laundromat without the ability to sprint.
  • Sprinting is disabled when coming into the vicinity of the Laundromat.
• The concept of a dimmed-down maze of Stage 0 was introduced in Stage 3 with the Delay update.
• The maze above and the below the player are actually two Endless Offices stacked on top of each other, both of them missing their floor and roof. The lights are neon but emit no light.
  • The walls of the mazes are not exactly their original heights. The walls directly below are scaled down and shorter, and the walls below that layer and the walls above the player are taller than original.
• The Alternative Ending is the Renovated version of the Classic Fever Dream Ending.
• Entering the room in Endless Office with the Faceless Being will result in the Faceless Being peeking behind or running away from the player in different stages.
  • The previous Faceless Being sightings can be witnessed in Endless Office, Great Deals, Closing Day, Substrata, Delay, and Eternal Lounge.
• The Roblox place for the Alternative Ending is titled "E_4.1".
  • This is the only place to be labeled with a decimal value, suggesting it's a sub-ending of "E_4". "E_4", however, does not exist.
