LINK_ROT is the 4^th Operator's Den in The True Backrooms: Renovated.

LINK_ROT takes place in a foggy, unsettling forest with a cloudy overcast sky. Unlike other stages, movement in LINK_ROT is restricted to clicking on a white circle with an arrow pointing forwards, which will send the player in a straight line. As you progress, the environment begins to deteriorate and several strange oddities manifests around the player's camera.

When directly approaching the two towers at the end of the map, clicking will instead send player into the ground and to a triangular black void with an extremely high contrast. Multiple eyes are on the walls, ceiling, and floor of the void, and The Operator is suspended before the player.

The player is unable to move anywhere except forward. Clicking on a separate path will not bring you to the direction you desire; clicking will always bring you to the next predetermined point.

Entrances

You can join this stage through the Stage Select menu if you've previously discovered it, or if you bought it through the Unlock All Stages gamepass.

Natura

In the room with the canvases, one large canvas leaning on a wall hides a small passageway in the corner. Enter the code 471011 into the computer, which will activate a neon blue door at the end of a pitch-black hallway. Enter the glowing door to be teleported to LINK_ROT.

Exits

Purgatory

Click to move forward 19 times. The last few clicks will phase you under the ground into a void room filled with eyes. Come into close contact with The Operator to be teleported to Purgatory.

The Operator is not a hostile entity, and will not jumpscare you or increase your paranoia. The Operator can be found at the end of this stage. It is required to come into contact with The Operator to exit the stage.

Trivia

• LINK_ROT's style of movement is based on the online game Geoguessr, which takes place in Google Street View.
• This is the first instance of the click sound effect in The True Backrooms: Renovated ever.
• The fastest possible exit time for LINK_ROT is 0:34.
• This is the only stage where you cannot walk or run. Attempting to sprint will not even provide the usual message of:

[You try to run, but you can't]
