(That door looks strange.)
(Hold on... what's that noise...)

The caption that appears when the player first encounters a phantom's door.

Overview[]

Phantoms are entities that appear within the stage Overtime. They have a chance of spawning behind doors that have a metallic-blue liquid splattered on them.

Appearance[]

Phantoms have an RTHRO-like avatar structure. They have thin, stick-like limbs, with both of their hands and feet showing. They're mostly pitch black with the exception of their front facial features, which are neon white.

Their facial features are crooked, with their eyes on different levels and unblinking. Their mouth is permanently unopened and fully white.

When running, Phantoms will bob up and down, with their hands stuck in an "L" position.

Behavior[]

When a player stands near a door that has a metallic-blue liquid splattered on it, there is a chance that a breathing sound will play. After a few seconds, the sound will stop.

If a player opens a door while the breathing sound is playing, a phantom will spawn behind the door. Upon spawning, the phantom will begin chasing the player.

If you get caught by the Phantom, you will get jumpscared, you will respawn in the same room you were in and have increased paranoia.

Phantoms cannot open doors.

Strategy[]

When near a liquid splattered door in the level, listen close for breathing before you open it. If breathing is heard, wait until it stops. After that, it will be safe to open a door.

If you do not have audio on, wait for the caption to appear, (The sound stopped... it might be safe to go now.). Once the caption appears, it is fine to enter the door. (Only works on the first encounter)

If you do open the door and a phantom begins chasing you, simply close the door back up. You will see the phantom's arms and legs no-clip through the door but it will eventually despawn. Note that this strategy does not work with some doors because the phantom is too close.
