Description

The True Ending is an ending in The True Backrooms: Renovated.

Sprinting FLASHLIGHT

This ending spawns the player in a gloomy lounge area. A heavy dark blue fog obscures much of the player's field of view. Wood beams and pillars support the structure, and the same carpet from Eternal Lounge and A Cosy, Warm Place make up the floors of the True Ending. Bookshelves decorate the walls, along with with windows peering out into an endless void of rain. There are no ceiling lights in this ending, making the flashlight crucial for visibility.

After opening the door and exiting the first room, you're led through an L-shaped hallway to the next room. At the left turn, a small lounge area with a table and two couches can be found. Continuing onwards, the player will encounter the door to the final room.

Stepping into the room, the background music will stop and The Speaker will begin his monologue. Afterwards, the end screen is shown and the player is teleported to A Cosy, Warm Place.

Entrances

Eternal Lounge

Achieved by completing all Operator's Dens in the same run: IN_DEV, SNOWED_IN, RENDER_DREAM, and LINK_ROT.

Progress through the game in this exact order:

Endless Office -> IN_DEV -> Overtime -> It's Too Much -> SNOWED_IN -> Great Deals -> Closing Day -> RENDER_DREAM -> Substrata -> Natura -> LINK_ROT -> Purgatory -> Delay -> Petrichor -> Nobody Is Around To Help -> Eternal Lounge

You do not have to start at Endless Office. If you have stages unlocked in the Stage Select menu, the latest you may start is at IN_DEV.

Exits

A Cosy, Warm Place

Head through the hallway and enter the room with The Speaker. Wait for the monologue to finish. After he is finished speaking, you will automatically be teleported to A Cosy, Warm Place.

Messages

The Speaker, before exiting this ending, says:

IT RAINS

IT ALWAYS RAINS HERE.

LIKE PROPERTIES OF ALL PLACES HERE,

THIS IS ILLOGICAL.

ONWARDS IS NO TRUE EXIT.

THERE IS NO WAY TO SEE THE TRUE LIGHT OF DAY.

BUT I FIND COMFORT IN THE FACT THAT THIS PLACE IS SAFE.

NO MATTER WHAT YOU DO FROM NOW ON, OR WHAT YOU THINK,

STILL DOWN, COMES THE RAIN.

THE TRUTH IS ONLY WHAT WE PERCEIVE IT AS.

...

IT'S NOT REAL,

NOTHING I CAN OFFER YOU IS REAL,

BUT I HOPE IT MADE YOU HAPPY.

Attempting to sprint or opening the escape menu[1] gives this message:

[There isn't a reason to run anymore]

Trivia

  • This is the only place in The True Backrooms: Renovated where sprinting is disabled and the flashlight is enabled.
  • The sprinting message, "[There isn't a reason to run anymore]", is different compared to other stages with sprinting disabled, and it is unique to the True Ending.
  • The Speaker in this ending does not have a voice. Instead, the transcript read out in conjunction with robot gibberish noises.
    • This is due to the fact that when Kord_K attempted to upload an actual monologue audio, he was banned for "uploading distorted audio". Kord_K has since refrained from further uploading any more audios of The Speaker to Roblox.
  • The audio that plays in this stage is officially named "Down came the rain", the audio in the workspace of this stage however is named "down came the rain - dyn finish"
